EMDR:  EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING

What It Helps With:

How it works:
EMDR helps the brain process distressing memories so they are no longer disruptive. During a session, you'll briefly focus on a memory while your therapist guides you through a type of bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or tapping, to help the brain re-file the memory as it would any other past event. This allows you to remember the event without the same intense emotions, stress, or physical sensations, helping you heal and move forward

EMDR & TRAUMA INTENSIVES:

We are especially trained in helping clients heal and resolve their challenges more efficiently with Trauma Intensives and Mini Trauma Intensives.  This approach allows clients to make rapid progress on resolving difficult issues, trauma, anxiety, and past challenges.

Mini-EMDR & Trauma Intensives: 2-4 hours concentrated therapy with clients using EMDR, Flash, EFT, PC, IFS, DBT Skills and other modalities to bring you to resolution and thriving. This is highly focused therapy and allows for more efficiency and enables us to "get more done" at one time.

EMDR & Trauma Intensives:  3-5 days of concentrated therapy with clients using EMDR, Flash, EFT, PC, IFS, DBT Skills and other modalities to bring you to resolution and thriving. This is highly focused trauma therapy and allows for more efficiency and enables us to "get more done" at one time.  Some clients will require up to 2 weeks of Trauma Intensive therapy.

FLASH TECHNIQUE

What it helps with:

-Flash is technique that offers extremely rapid resolution of distressing issues and memories without having to talk about or focus on the problem much
-Within minutes, clients often report that the memory has faded, become less vivid or distressing

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety and phobias

  • Guilt, shame, and other complex emotions

  • Depression

  • Intrusive thoughts and emotions

  • Being easily overwhelmed

How it works: The Flash Technique is a trauma-processing method that helps resolve disturbing memories by minimizing conscious engagement with the trauma itself. It works by having a client focus on a positive or neutral image or activity while briefly and repeatedly "checking in" on a traumatic memory, often prompted by rapid blinking. This allows for distress reduction with minimal emotional discomfort and can be used as a standalone therapy or as a preparation for therapies. Preliminary research has found Flash to be non-distressing, safe, rapid, effective, and extremely efficient.

EFT Tapping.png

EFT or "TAPPING":  EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

What it helps with:

  • Pain management

  • Phobias and fears

  • Addictions

  • Sleep problems

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Depression

  • Removing Success blocks &  reprogramming limiting beliefs

How it works:
EFT is a is a holistic therapy that involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on negative emotions or experiences to reprogram or relieve them.  â€‹This effective technique involves tapping on a sequence of nine specific points on the body, known as meridian points, while repeating phrases related to the issue.  EFT can have an immediate effect in changing negative thinking and reprogramming it with positive, successful thoughts.

IFS Parts Work.png

IFS OR PARTS WORK:  INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS
What it helps with

  • Substance use disorders

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Depression

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Relationship problems: Such as interpersonal conflicts, communication difficulties, and intimacy issues

  • Eating Disorders

  • People pleasing, performance issues, feeling stuck, high achieving challenges, gaps between what you want to do and what you actually do

How it works:

IFS, or Internal Family Systems therapy, works by viewing the mind as a system of "parts" or sub-personalities, each with its own role and perspective. The therapy helps individuals connect with their core "Self" to heal wounded parts and balance protective parts like managers and firefighters. This is done by identifying parts, fostering a relationship between the Self and each part, and transforming extreme roles to achieve internal harmony

Weekly 50-minute sessions:   On a weekly basis, we will assess your challenges and goals, assess your symptoms and life events/trauma history, establish coping resources, and then use EMDR, Flash, EFT, PC, and other modalities to bring you to resolution and thriving.  We hold 50-minute sessions (longer than the typical 45 minutes).
